  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 4 brioche burger buns (toasted)
  • 4 slice American cheese
  • 4 slice lettuce
  • 1 tomato (sliced)
  • ½ red onion (sliced)
  • 2 tbsp ketchup

How to Make It

  1. 1

Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and form into patties about 3/4 inch thick. Press a small indent in the center of each.

  2. 2

Season both sides generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. 3

Heat a cast iron skillet or grill over high heat. Cook patties 3-4 minutes per side for medium, adding cheese in the last minute.

Toast the buns cut-side down in the skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden.

  5. 5

Build burgers with lettuce, tomato, onion, patty, and condiments. Serve immediately.
